Gentoo penguin (Pygoscelis papua) regurgitating food to feed one of its two chicks. The food is a mixture of krill and fish. This penguin's breeding season takes place on sub-Antarctic islands in the spring and autumn of the southern hemisphere. A clutch of two eggs is laid. The first egg and chick is larger, and this is usually the only one that survives. Both parents will feed the chicks for 3-4 months. Photographed on South Georgia.
