Misty Helm Crag and Grassmere
After two weeks of constant rain the forecast suggested a brighter day. It certainly didn’t disappoint as the clouds parted and the warmth from the sun started to evaporate water from the sodden ground, resulting in ethereal clouds of mist rising around Helm Crag. A small peak that commands a presence greater than its altitude as it sits at the northern end of Grassmere, with the iconic Lion and the Lamb rock pinnacles visible from the main road. If you look closely you can make out some real lambs grazing on the open hillside.
