JULES P. VALLE. Jules Felix Yalle, son of Julesand Isabella Sargent Yalle, wasborn in St. Louis, Dec. 28, is a descendant of the originalFrench settlers of Missouri. Hisgreat-grandfather was commandantof the post of Ste. Genevieve underboth French and Spanish father was born at Ste. Gene-vieve and was for years presidentof the Iron Mountain Company andof the Chouteau, Harrison & Yall&Iron Company. He died in 1872. Jules F. Yalle was educated inthe public schools and at Washing-ton university. He also attendedthe Virginia Military Institute. Later he began the study of medi-cine, and after graduating fromSt, Louis Medical College in 1885,continued to prepare himself by acourse of study and practice, cov-ering a period of three years, in thehospitals of this country and Eu-rope. Thus when he settled downto practice in his native city he wassplendidly equipped for his lifework. Dr. Yalle is a member of the. medical staff of St. Lukes Hospital,an instructor in obstetrics in Medical College and chief ofthe obstetrical clinic of that is physician to the MissouriSchool for the Blind and served of-ficially four years as member of theboard of managers of that institu-tion. Dr. Yalle is a member of theAmerican Medical Association andof the State and local medical so-cieties, also of the St. Louis Ob-stetrical and Gynecological Societyand of the St. Louis Hospital Alum-ni. He was married in 1881 to Miss MEDICINE AND SURGERY. 351 Mary M., daughter of Judge HenryA. Clover, of St. Louis.
