Only where the water rushes over the weir onthe left are strong movement and sound indicated, andthese are suggested in a manner which renders theuniversal sense of repose more impressive. The study from which this corner of the picture waspainted is very powerful, and characteristic of VicatColes method, as well as of the manner of work whichhe did out of STUDY OF OLD PANG BOURNE WEIR.
