An elderly Wayuu woman face paints her grandchild before she takes part in Yonna traditional dance. A Wayuu group of girls and a boy are dancing the Yonna for tourists who visit their house in Playa Camarones, in La Guajira, a desert area in the north of Colombia. The Yonna, traditional dance of the Wayuu indigenous people, is being performed for celebrations, for the Majayut (the transition from an indigenous girl to a woman), or on occasions related to spirituality. Women wear red traditional dresses, while the men wear typical outfit called 'wayuuco'.
