Maxillary teeth 10 or 11, fourth and fifth or fifth and sixth enlarged, followed by an interspace, the two posterior again en- larged and grooved, and situated just behind the eye; mandibular teeth increasing in size to the sixth, which is fang-like and followed by an interspace, the posterior teeth small. Head slightly distinct from neck; eye rather small, with vertically subelliptic pupil. Body cylindrical; scales smooth, with apical pits, in 19 to 25 rows ; ventrals rounded.
