Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada - 11 October 2013; no people in view. St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica has the highest granite spire in North America. This imposing Catholic Church is a good example of the Gothic Revival style of architecture. Consecrated in 1899, it was made a basilica in 1950 by Pope Pius XII.
