The very important practicalresult of this interview was that Cokecast in his lot entirely with the Meth-odist movement, and easily secured bycommon consent the second place in theconnection. No one else was so wellqualified to supply Wesleys place in anemergency; and almost at once he wasrecognized as his natural influence upon Wesley, though un-doubtedly exaggerated, was great. The influence on the whole, if weconsider the manner of Doctor Cokesconversion and his dismissal from hiscuracy, was not likely to act as a deter-rent to the spirit of schism latent inMethodism.
