Porto, Portugal - 10 April 2017 Porto is the second city Portugal after Lisbon. Located on the estuary of the Douro River in Northern Portugal, it is one of the oldest populated centres in Europe. Its historical centre was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. South of the river lies its twin city, Gaia, which hosts most of the numerous wine and port cellars; it is also more populous than Porto itself. Here we see the Old Town and Cathedral if Port, viewed across the Douro River from Gaia. A rabelo wine freighter - converted to a pleasure boat. is cruising down the river.
