Long-haired spider monkey (Ateles belzebuth) in a tree. These primates, also known as white-bellied or white-fronted spider monkeys, are a type of New World monkey found throughout South America from Colombia and Ecuador, to Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. They are currently classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (as of 2010). Photographed in the Amazon basin, Peru.
