Stable with cobblestone floor, wooden stalls, feeding trough & hayrack at Carreg Fawr farmyard: one of the 'model farms' built on Bardsey Island 1870-75 by Lord Newborough. The roofing slates are coated with an underlay of lime plaster. Artist & writer Brenda Chamberlain lived on Bardsey 1947-61, mainly in Carreg farmhouse; she described her experiences in the book Tide-race published in 1962.
