Yellowed skin in jaundice caused by hepatic metastases (cancer which has spread to the liver). This 76 year old man has linitis plastica (a rare form of stomach cancer). The yellowing symptoms of jaundice are caused by an excess of bilirubin, a bile pigment, in the blood. Jaundice is the chief sign of many disorders of the liver.
