A Maiko (apprentice geisha) displays some of the skills she has learnt during her apprenticeship.
Maiko or apprentice Geishas need to prove they have learn all of the ancient arts before they are allowed to be come a full time Geisha. This will require years of training and thousands of practice sessions where they will entertain guests. Dances and games have to be perfected in order for them to pass these examinations in order for them to become a fully fledged Geisha one day.
