The former US Special Economic Envoy to Northern Ireland, Declan Kelly, is honoured by Queen’s University Belfast, Thursday, July 7th,2011, during a graduation ceremony. Mr Kelly was awarded an honorary doctorate for services to business and commerce. Declan Kelly was appointed to the post of Economic Envoy to Northern Ireland by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on 11 September 2009. Until July 2010, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Integration Officer of FTI Consulting, one of the world’s leading international consulting companies. During his appointment as US Economic Adviser to Northern Ireland, he made a significant contribution to the local economy, including the creation of the US/NI Mentorship Programme, which benefits many Queen's students.
