ILLINOIS MILK SHIPPED TO ST. LOUIS. The amount of milk received in St. Louis fromIllinois is annually 503,700 cans, making the annualamount worth $402,960 to the farmers of Illinois. THE ELGIN DAIRY BOARD OF TRADE. The number of pounds of butter sold on the ElginDairy Board of Trade for 1892 were 30,496,284; thenumber of pounds of cheese, 7,115,735; the cash receivedfor butter, $7,725,; for cheese, $589,; total,$8,315, The average price per pound for butterin 1892, 25i cents. There were represented on theElgin Daily Board for 1892, 300 creameries, leaving266 creameries in the State not reporting their sales tothat Board; counting that they made the same averageamount per creamery, makes the total value of creamerybutter in the State $14,575, The value of cheesemade outside the Elgin district (assessors returns), 607,-115 pounds, valued at $77,378.
