Biogas power plant, China. These large storage units contain excreta that is used to produce biogas that is burnt to produce energy. Biogas refers to gases produced by the decomposition of biological waste. In this case biogases such as methane are being produced from the digestion and fermentation of animal manure and faeces. This power plant produces an output of 700 megawatts of energy, which is used to power various industrial sites. It is operated by the Biogas Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture, China.
