A Tibetan village clinging to the sides of a mountain on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in northern Yunnan Province. A part of the Three Parallel Rivers World Heritage Park (where the Yangtze, Mekong and Salween Rivers run parallel), the area is renowned for its high biodiversity; containing of China's landmass but containing more than 20% of the country's plant and 25% of the animal species. It also hosts 16 minority groups on its river banks and mountain slopes; one of the highest concentrations in the world.
