3D printing research for space construction. NASA research engineer Nathan Gelino displaying a 3D printed cylinder used for compression testing. Engineers measure how much force it takes to break the structure before 3D printing it with a simulated lunar regolith (moon rock) and polymers. The plan is to develop 3D printers for use in construction projects on the Moon and Mars. Gelino and his team are working at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA. Photographed on 9 February 2018.
