The Operation.—An assistant, whose onlyduty is to empty the washer and adjust it,should be provided. In other matters thetechuique differs in no essential regard fromthat of lithotrity up to the time of washingout the bladder. The method of introduction of the litho-trite and the process of catching and crushing the stone are similar in thisoperation to the ordinary method, except that the crushing process is inter-rupted by the introduc-tion of the evacuatingcatheter as soon as thestone is well broken,which may be withinfive or ten minutesafter the introductionof the lithotrite,
