Passengers waiting for new E6 series Akita Komachi Shinkansen pulling into JR Omagari Station, bound for Tokyo
Ōmagari Station (大曲駅) is a railway station in Daisen, Akita, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). It is served by shinkansen service, making it one of the few stops on the Akita Shinkansen Line. It is the last stop before Akita City, for train departing from Tokyo. The train pulling in is the E6 series (E6系) Japanese Shinkansen high-speed train type operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) on Super Komachi 'mini-shinkansen' services on the Tohoku Shinkansen and Akita Shinkansen from Tokyo to Akita since 16 March 2013. A pre-production set was delivered in June 2010 for extensive testing, with 23 full-production sets scheduled to be delivered between November 2012 and spring 2014.
