He married Margaret Clapp, daughter of James andMargaret Clapp, of Roxbury, Mass. She died in Chicopee,January 2, 1882, aged 74 years, 3 months. He died inChicopee, September i, 1875, aged 6y years, 6 months. Capt. Henry L. Bunker was born in Nantucket, Mass.,November 17, 1797. In early life he followed the sea;went on whaling voyages, and in time became master ofvessels at different periods in the whaling fleet. Afterwardshe moved to Springfield and engaged in the grocery business,having a store under the old Town Hall on State street. 90 SKETCHES OF THE OLD INHABITANTS. DAVID A. HUSH. AND MANSIONS OF SPRINGFIELD. 91 He married Hannah Nickerson, of Harwich, Mass. Shewas born August 4, 1799, and died at Oakland, Cal., Decem-ber 22, 1883, aged 84 years. In July, 1826, he and his wifewere admitted members of the First Church, Rev. SamuelOsgood. Captain Bunker died in Springfield, January 6,1865, aged 67 years. Children : three sons, one daughter. Mr. David Austin Bush was born at Enfield, Conn., in1803. When fifteen years old he went to learn the plow mak-ing business, of Potter & King, Enfield, Conn., who weremanufacturers of plows for the Southern market. Aboutthe year 1820, he went as agent of the firm to Virginia, withthree thousand plows shipped on board a sloop at Hart-ford, Conn. He remained in the South several his return north he worked on the first water wheelsand flumes at Chicopee Falls, Mass.
