The elephant is being cared for at the Elephant Valley Project in Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia. The Project provides a safe location away from the villages to treat sick and injured elephants who have been badly treated and overworked by their owners. They are not allowed to be worked or ridden, beaten or frightened. They bathe in the rivers, munch all day in the surrounding forests and jungles and enjoy throwing vast amounts of mud around. They learn to go back to nature and enjoy an elephant life.
