Monument Valley is a Navajo Nation tribal park located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona and is part of the Colorado Plateau. A rather desolate landscape, the floor is largely Cutler Red siltstone interrupted by the crumbling Butte and red Mesa sandstone formations rising hundreds of feet into the air.
