It is somewhat smaller than C. vesicatoria, being fromy^ to 3_^ inch in length and about j^^^v inch in breadth. It is of a blackcolor, with the exception of ochreous markings; the under portionof the body is cinereous; head cordate of a light ochre color, withtwo black spots on the apex; mandibles entirely concealed by the.
