The cylinders are steam jacketed, fitted with link motion reversinggear, and are so arranged that a portion of the exhaust is directedinto the feed-water tank, which is in the base plate underneath hecylinders. It is claimed that, owing to the many improvements madein this engine, an economy of fuel of from lo to 50 per cent, is effectedover the old type.
