The foundation of the Chair Cover is crimson plush, whichis cut to size, and finished with silk cords and embroidery shown in Detail A is worked upon coarseIndian muslin, with Oriental silks and gold tinsel. Theparts printed dark are worked with navy blue silk, andthe centres of the ornaments with crimson silk ; the linesof tinsel are printed nearly white. The stitches usedfor the centres are Runnings. To work: Take oneline across the work, another perpendicularly, and twodiagonally, from right to left, and from left to outline is Hem Stitch, with Crewel and SatinStitches where shown in the Detail. The embroiderywhen completed is Buttonholed to the plush foun-dation.
