Digital food thermometer. This is being used to test the internal temperature a roast chicken, ensuring that it has been cooked sufficiently and is safe to eat. The probe is put inside the thickest part of the thigh of the chicken, the desired temperature is set on the right side and the actual temperature is shown on the left. This thermometer is set to 85C, the temperature to which fresh or frozen poultry must be heated to be safe to eat, the measured temperature is 82C. The thin connecting wire means the probe can remain inside the food being cooked in an oven while the display is outside. An alarm sounds when the correct temperature is reached.
