Both mild and complete obstruction may beremedied by this simple operation (Fig. 1249). After division of the adhe-sions a compressing pad held on the outside of the abdomen may be appliedso as to prevent the bowel falling back into its old position. Such a pad may THE ABDOMEN 601.
