Post 2012 Olympic games 'Olympic Park' landscaping scheme for public use, stage 1 - South Plaza. The new Queen Elizabeth Park covers around 560 acres and includes 150 bat boxes and 525 bird boxes. With over 1 million visitors since July 2013 this new phase covers around 27 acres. Within the park the Copper Box Arena provides a flexible venue for sporting events and concerts. Walking around the park you are aware of the many new trees that have been planted as well as the 57 giant globes which hang between them.
