Recurrent Bandage.—This bandage derives its namefrom the fact that the roller after covering a certain partof the surface is reflected and brought back to the pointof starting; it is then reversed and carried toward theopposite point, and this manipulation is continued untilthe part is covered by these recurrent turns, which arethen secured by a few circular turns (Fig. 13). This isthe bandage usually employed in the dressing of stumpsafter amputation. Compound Bandages. These bandages are usually formed of several pieces ofmuslin or other material, sewed or pinned together, andare employed to fulfil some special indication in the appli-cation of dressings to particular parts of the body.
