View NNW of the early C18th Friends Meeting House at Come-to-Good, Cornwall, England, UK, with cob walls on stone rubble footings. The half-hipped roof of wheat-reed thatch sweeps down over the open-fronted shed (linhay) added in the mid C19th. At the same time the E window was moved to the original entrance position in the central S porch & a new doorway cut at the W end. The journal of Thomas Gwinn, one of a group of 15 Quakers who subscribed £53 8s. 3d. to have the meeting house built, records that their first meeting was held on the 13th day of the 6th month 1710. This photo was taken in April 2002, restoration work & re-thatching took place in 2010. The meeting house is a Grade I Listed Building.
