The sanctuary of Notre-Dame de la Salette, located in the mountains near Corps in the French Alps. Construction of the basilica began in 1852 and the site is a place of pilgrimage for catholics. The sanctuary was built on the site where two children are said to have encountered the Virgin Mary.
