I took this in a evening of mid October, when fall colours were just about the peak, from atop the ridge that encircles the lake of Arpy (which lies behind my shoulders here), a natural balcony looking down to the north-western end of Valle d'Aosta, with the majestic Monte Bianco massif in the background. The title comes from the Austrian composer Joseph Marx's masterpiece "Eine Herbstsinfonie", a piece that I love and which I immediately thought of when I spotted this scene. A true symphony of colours and mountain ranges in this vista. This is stitched from 5 vertical frames
