Just beyond the banner, people are lining up, queuing on both sides of the canal for soup and hot chocolate and gluhwein, mulled wine. In Dutch that sort of service on the ice is called Koek en Zopie (like Food and Drink). The canal at the end (actually the beginning) of the Keizersgracht canal, is the beautiful small Brouwersgracht Canal.
