The statues, 48 in all, represent the Brussels guilds. The 10 statues inside the park are well known humanists . Statue of Cornelis de Vriendt was made of Carrara marble by sculptor Jules Pecher (1830 -1899). Cornelis Floris de Vriendt (1514 - 1575) was a Flemish Renaissance architect and sculptor.
