JULIUS DAVIS Of Durham, is one of the youngest members ofthe House, being but twenty-six years of age. Hewas born in Killingworth, June 22, 1855, andreceived his education in the common the age of seventeen years he engaged infarming, and then went into the coal business, inwhich he continued until 1874. In that year heentered the grocery and feed business, and hasengaged in it ever since. He is a Democrat inpolitics, and is a member of the Central SchoolCommittee in Durham. He was formerly a Con-stable. 169. JAMBS LAWTON Of Middletown, serves his second term in theLegislature at this session, having been a mem-ber of the House last year, when he served on theCommittee on Roads and Bridges. He was bornin Portland, September 5, 1843, and is thirty-eight years of age. In his youth he attended thecommon school, and his education was derivedtherefrom. For the past sixteen years he has engaged in the grocery and provision business inMiddletown, and is senior member of the pros-perous firm of Lawton & Wall. Mr. Lawton en-joys in an eminent degree the confidence andesteem of his party, the Democratic, as is shownby his re-election as representative by an in-creased majority.
