The Treasury, Petra, Jordan
The Treasury, Petra, Jordan. Petra was the capital of the Nabataean kingdom from 312 BC until it was absorbed into the Roman Empire in 106 AD. The impressive rock-cut tomb facade of the "Treasury" (Al-Khazneh) is the city's most famous site. This 2000 year old Nabataean masterpiece is heavily influenced by Hellenistic temple design.
