London Southend Airport, Essex, UK. 4th Jul, 2021. The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire and Hurricane fighters carried out a flypast over the clifftop memorial at Capel le Ferne, near Dover, Kent. On their return flight to their home base in Lincolnshire they stopped in at Southend for fuel, carrying out a ‘run and break’ before landing. For 2021 the Hurricane has been repainted into an all black night fighter scheme as worn by 247 squadron RAF when defending the south coast from invading night bombers
