A bascinet of a Knight of the Teutonic Order, 14th century Two-piece, riveted iron skull, consisting of a tapered crest piece with long spike and an almost cylindrical bottom piece with angular face opening. Riveted loops to attach the helmet aventail on the lower edge. Restored and preserved condition. Height 30 cm, weight approximately 1300 g. This rare helmet owes its outlandish design to Baltic influence. Such helmets can surely be considered the typical helmet type of the Teutonic Knights in Prussia. Extremely significant, rare helmet, almos, Additional-Rights-Clearance-Info-Not-Available
