The Harlem Hellfighters were a predominantly African American infantry unit in World War One which spent more time in combat than any other American unit. Despite their courage, sacrifice and dedication to their nation, they returned home to face racism and segregation from their fellow countrymen. Better known as Black History Month, African American History Month honors the contributions of African Americans to History. African American History Month is an annual recognition of these contributions with a focus on diversity, identity, and representation.
