Sufpending itfelf by the tail, it changes to the chryfalis, as at fig. 2,in a few hours; and the whole of the metamorphofis is completed in threeweeks, the butterfly being perfeft, and on the wing, the firfl: week in upper parts are reprefented at fig. 3, and the under fide of the male at fig. 4,The female differs a little on the under fide, and is reprefented at fig. 5.
