He was for several years a member ofthe Executive Committee, and is now Vice-Presi-dent of the Illinois Press Association and has beena delegate to the National Editorial Associationon several occasions. He has by invitationprepared severrl papers on advertising for theIllinois Press Association. He has also writtenseveral series of interesting letters for his paperwhile traveling, and as a pastime has written somepoetry for publication. He belongs to a family ofwhich several members are printers, and his brothersrun printing oflices in Omaha, Neb., St. Josejih,Mo., and Keokuk, Iowa. An historical sketch of H. W.
