Bramshott,Surrey Saturday 26th March 2016 A Family have escaped to tell the tale after their car ploughed into high voltage Power Cables on a major truck road this evening. The incident unfolded on the Northbound section of the A3 earlier this evening(Saturday) The cable that was carrying 11,000 Volt was blown down by storm force winds into the live traffic lanes of the busy A3 near Bramshott Chase in Surrey. The vehicle that contained a family hit the cable and a second vehicle traveling close behind than rear ended vehicle causing their car to flip on to its roof and roll down in gully. The driver escaped without serious injury. A young child hat was in the same vehicle was taken to hospital with a suspect broken arm and other injuries. The incident closed both carriageways of the A3 whilst Emergency services from Surrey and Hampshire fire and rescue service made the area safe. Four car lengths behind was a fully laden petrol tanker. The closure created massive 3 mile traffic jams in and around the area whilst many tried to seek alternative routes. Specialists from Scottish and Southern were called in to make the power cables safe. Many home in the area have been left without power.©UKNIP
