The following are the best of the Italian introductions of this season ; all are the large orchid-flowered type similar to the famous Austria and Italia introduced last year. We call special attention to those having dark foliage, they stand alone and above all other bronze-leaved sorts heretofore introduced, and are worthy of a place in every collection for their foliage effect alone. America. Of handsome, majestic growtn, at- taining a height of 6 feet; the magnificent bronzy foliage marked with green, having a peculiar lustre, appearing as if varnished ; flowers rich orange-salmon, feathered and veined vnth scarlet. 35 cts. each. Allemania. This is perhaps the best of the Italian-type flowers, being exceptionally large, frequently measuring over 6 inches across ; the upper petals salmon, with broad border and markings of golden-yellow, while the lower petal is darker salmon,marked with yellow in the centre ; a fine flower and pos- sesses more substance than others of this type ; dark green foliage ; grows 6 feet high. (See cut on page 26.) 35 cts. each. Africa. Similar in foliage and habit to America ; flowers large, of rich orauge- sahnon, deepening to scarlet in the throat; height 6 feet. 75 cts. each. Asia. A bright yellow variety, similar to Austria, but with more decided and deeper red spots in the throat ; foliage deep green. 50 cts. each. Aphrodite. Deep green foliage and large flowers, upper petals salmon edged and feathered light yellow, lower petals light salmon with paler shadings. 50 cts. each. H. Wenclland. An improved Italia, with larger flowers of better substance and richer color, the orange-scarlet on yellow
