INVASION OF ITALY - Rosarno, our most forward position on the coast road. This town was taken by the 2nd Cameronians against heavy enemy opposition, and was under shellfire for 12 hours. The battalion held on and some of the men are seen here leaving the town to advance North across the river, over which the enemy had blown all bridges. The Cameronians were the first (?) British battalion ashore in Italy and have made excellent progress in the drive northwards. Photographic negative , British Army
