Soldiers trained as water purification specialists pumped up to 15,000 gallons of clean water per hour into the hospital due to the lack of available fresh water in the area. The South Carolina National Guard has been activated to support state and county emergency management agencies and local first responders as historic flooding impacts counties statewide.
