Saxitoxin. Molecular model of the neurotoxin saxitoxin (), a chemical naturally produced by some marine dinoflagellates and cyanobacteria. Its toxic effects are caused by it acting as a selective sodium channel blocker. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (white), nitrogen (blue) and oxygen (red).
