BREMERTON, Washington (May 10, 2017) Lt. Cmdr. Michael Brown, USS John C. Stennis’ (CVN 74) damage control assistant, from St. Louis, conducts a maintenance spot check with Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Sam Anthony, from Lexington, North Carolina, on an escape scuttle aboard John C. Stennis. Spot Checks ensure maintenance is being performed correctly. John C. Stennis is conducting a planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, during which the ship is undergoing scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
