PACIFIC OCEAN (May 7, 2017) Sailors, Marines and Tigers participate in protestant services aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) during Tiger Cruise. Tiger Cruise allowed more than 160 friends and family members to embark Makin Island to experience Navy and Marine Corps life at sea during the ship’s return trip to San Diego following a seven-month deployment to the 3rd, 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.
