SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii – A low cost low altitude (LCLA) load rigged by Chief Warrant Officer 3 Gregory Benson, an Airdrop Systems Technician with the 25th Sustainment Brigade, successfully deploys its parachute after being dropped from a CH-47 Chinook onto a drop zone at Kahuku Training Area December 12, during an air delivery exercise. The LCLA delivery method is used to resupply on-ground troops at less of cost and higher accuracy than a high altitude airdrop making it the preferred method for light-weight supplies. ( Army
